Recap Week 15

We had one of the nicest nights of the year, the turnout was good, the greens were smooth, and the course in the best shape of the season. So it was only natural that we came out with guns blazing, looking for a piece of the big birdie pool. Many of you must have taken our advice about getting the ball to the hole because from a season-low two birdies the week before, we were able to drain a season-high 18 this week. The second hole was brought to its knees and gave up 6 birdies alone. While putts were rolling in all over the course, your birdies were being covered left and right at the same time, and when the dust settled,  the luck of the Irish prevailed with only Mike McNeice (3rd) and Paul McDermott (5th) left standinng to split the pot. Mcnice job men. Based on the 19th hole banter, there were also a lot of woulda, shoulda, coulda birdies, but those are only paid with (false) commiseration, not real compensation.

Last year's money leader Jim Lyons is starting to heat up and came it at +5 to earn the individual prize and Terence Moore continues his late-season outstanding play (+5) and paired up with always steady, sweet-swinging Mr. McNeice (+4) to snag team honors with a season-high +9. Frank LaRosa stuck one in close on 8 to win closest to the pin at 1'10".  Every time Frank feels someone getting closer to him on the money board, he wins a couple more dollars to stay ahead. He's toying with us.

Also impressive this week was Rick Walsh who shot an Easton C.C. career-low round of 79. Rick has been working on a more controlled and relaxed swing and it is starting to pay dividends. His old violent swing was kinda like the golf course equivalent of road rage. Also noteworthy was our friend Mark Spear's bogey-free round. (Be careful what you wish for.)

And finallly, it was great to see Bino back on the course again. After avoiding surgery by the skin of his teeth, a month of seeing the chiropractor has really helped get him back in golf shape and he'll hopefully be able to salvage something from this fast dwindling season.

 Any words Bino?

Now that I've been adjusted and manipulated all feels good and nothing has changed with my playing partners...Larosa still hits them close....Lyons still bombs them off the tee...and Bradley has started drinking some sort of happy juice off the beer cart. Jessica the cart girl seems to follow us around the course knowing he's going to need more.
If I could only get an early out incentive from the Post Office I could play more golf....all I need is a weeks pay and a 30 pack and I'm gone.
