Well, another SIGL season, at least our 40th, is just around the corner. Opening Day for 2019 will be on Tuesday, May 7th with the usual block of tee times. We are starting a little later than usual in order to allow the course to dry out as much as possible.

It was a really tough fall and early winter for playing golf at Easton last year. The Blue Hill Observatory noted that for the last four months of 2018 they had the most amount of rainfall ever recorded, so thank goodness we don't play golf on top of Big Blue. But unfortunately, Easton received all that rain, too and, through no fault of its own, Easton CC was rendered virtually unplayable much of the time. So here's hoping that 2019 will be a lot drier.

Easton has gone up $1.00 to $27.00 for a league round, so the annual league fee will be $670.
That consists of $540 in greens fees (20 weeks x $27) and $130 for weekly and tourney prize money and a banquet. Please have payment of the first half dues of $335 on the first night of play.

We are going to wait for the Patriots schedule to be announced before we reserve a date for our year-end tourney, so that, if possible, we don't have our tourney on the same day as a Pats home game, which some SIGLers would be attending.

We will have the usual weekly competitions (team, individual, CTP, skins pool, etc.) with the same prize money amounts. The back nine skins pool has grown in popularity, so if you play the back, don't forget to get in. Sometimes it only takes one stroke of the putter to have yourself a nice pay day, as was the case when John Hrenko took home $230 for his sole living birdie on a carry-over week. See TJ and/or look for the envelopes and depository on the bar. Remember: back nines matter.

If you will not be returning this year, please let us know as soon as possible. And if you have a friend that wants to join, we need to know before the season starts.

And finally, we will all be a little rusty after a winter off, so start your season off on the right foot (and then transfer your weight to the left foot during the follow-through) with a lesson from our friendly pro Rob Citrano, voted again by Kara as The Best Golf Instructor in the Land, and tell him SIGL sent you.

  See you on May 7th!
