Recap

The night started out by driving though the downpours only to get to the course to find they had closed it down. That was not going to stop our fearless leader into his specialty of negotiating with the owner to open it for the league. A drive down the first and ninth fairways came back with two thumbs up and off we went. Fourteen brave souls started out, but not all finished this wild round. All throughout the round you could hear thunder then the lightning appeared and the wall of clouds lined the sky in what looked like Armageddon, that's when the Jaffe group said I'm a geddon out of here, but not Johnson and Savini this was old hat to them. Standing on the 9th hole waiting for Lyons birdie putt, bolts of lightning lit the sky as putters dropped and a warm feeling on the left side of Hartnett's face caused me to say "run Forest run".
Nothing was going to stop the Barry group from getting 18 in as he had the course to himself. They don't call him "cwayzee" Larry for nothing.
We have a new money leader with Ed Finn taking advantage of Freedman's no shows to edge past him.
Ed MacNeil had an up and down round with 2 birdies and 3 outs, but one of the birdies held to win half the birdie pool.
Rick Walsh had one of his better rounds to take top individual.

Recap

The weather man cometh again and I feel bad for the Johnson group who always seem to get caught in the downpours. Mullins gutted out a painful finger injury to get his round in after slicing his finger open earlier in the day.
The round of the week goes to Rich McKenna in which he starts out with a double bogey, but finished the front nine going 1 under par, he went on to shoot a scorching 69 for the round. I would give my left testicle to shoot that kind of round. Runners up goes to Mark Hartnett who every time he plays seems pull out a new club with price tag still on. This one looks like a keeper, he gets on the money board with top team honors and a birdie that held. Freedman comes back to continue his solid play with even par and cashes in on another birdie. I'd like to welcome Billy Karas back from a 5 week layoff with a shoulder injury.

Recap

The African heat kept a lot of members away on this Tuesday night, but for those who played it wasn't all that bad. A little retract from last weeks recap. I misheard as Roger Clemens would say, on a member saying he hates playing on Tuesday's, when he said he hates the way he plays on Tuesday's and to the unaware member on introducing himself, we'll just say it was a misunderstanding. No hard feelings, the league is supposed to be fun.
The round of the week goes to Rich McKenna who was as hot as the weather shooting under par on the front, but the money went to Ed Finn who on the 3rd hole hit his tee shot to the right near the cart path, it landed on a nice little patch of grass giving him a good lie for his second shot which bounced a couple of times and rolled in the hole for an eagle. That shot won him the birdie pool as all other holes were knocked out. Scott Bamford came out of his funk and had is best round and collected top team honors. Jim Lyons aka Jekyl and Hyde had his best round and if could only get his putts to the hole would have been under par, but still one over is a great round.
We are getting close to the midyear two man team tournament for the coveted Judge Smails Cup. Details to come in upcoming recaps.

Recap

I will update the Money Leaders next week due to the birdie pool payout being unknown at this time.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if your playing with someone for the first time, don't you introduce yourself and shake hands. I was about to when I caught up with the group ahead of me on the 5th hole. I looked at this new member and was about to introduce myself when he made no eye contact with me and just started walking away. The other playing partner kept saying he hates playing on Tuesday's, what the f&#k. I don't care how bad I play, it's still better than working or dealing with other problems. Life is good when your playing golf, if you don't want to play then quit.
Ok enough with this crap.
The round of the week goes to Mike Mullins who came flying out of the shoot with a birdie on 1 and a couple of bad holes could have made it better, but still wound up with +7, collecting on both individual and team honors. Jim Lyons sucked, but sometimes it pays and this time it did, because out of the 6 points he had 4 came on the 8th with a birdie, and it will pay dividends.
The birdie pool caught a break this week with Freedman, F. Larosa and Barry out of the competition for various reasons. The majority of us did not take advantage as there were only 6 total for the league.

Winners Week 6

Individual

Mike Mullins +7 $10

Team

Mike Mullins +7 $10
M. Poverman E $5

Birdies

We have 2 that will pay and dollar amount to be determined.
Reason is Frank Larosa is in charge of the birdie pool and not every one got in the pool. Frank is on vacation and will be back on Tuesday.
The 2 that will pay are.

Jim Thompson 3rd hole

Jim Lyons 8th hole

The 1st and 2nd holes are in question.

Closest to the pin 3rd shot on 2

Bino 5'

Larry was not there to put out the marker and the 1st group forgot to put it out.
I put it 5' from the pin, if someone else got closer let me know, otherwise I will take the prize money.

Closest to the pin in Week 7 is the 4th hole
