WEEK 10 CTP        6TH HOLE

Unlike previous years, we have been very lucky this season weather-wise, and Tuesday was no exception. Scores were generally good with a few more plus numbers than minuses.

Breaking out with his best performance of the year was Brian Murphy who posted a sterling +6 from his 13 points earned.

Right behind Murph were his playing partner Rick Walsh, and playing partners Mike Wall and Greg Paone all at +5. And all it took in the card-off was a bogey on 1 for Greg to settle that matter, and take 2nd Individual.

Well positioned at +6 to be in the running for top team was Murphy, and scoring partner Mike Sweet did not disappoint with a solid +2 to take 1st Team at +8.

Of the +5s, Mike Wall had the best partner in Terry Thompson at +2, so they will accept 2nd Team honors. (Wall wins when he is -5 and wins when he is +5)

Early on, steady Dan Svirsky fashioned a fine shot to 9'9" on the  4th hole, and it was not bested the rest of the day, so he will proudly accept the Closest to Pin cash.

On the frontside, we had a measly five birdies and the $120 pot will be split two ways, with the silky swing of Mike McNeice bagging a deuce on the 6th, and Mike Wall landing the only bird on 8. The 9th hole went down with Mr. Wall, Greg Paone, and Wayne Musgrove recording 4s.

The Back Nine birdie pool was dusted off for the first time this year with 22 $5.00 entrants. But we only had four birdies. And with three of them on 13 (McNeice, Hrenko, Barry), that left just one uncovered birdie, and that goes to impressive rookie Chris Regan for his 3 on the 11th.

Highpointers for the day were Greg Paone and Mike Wall with 18. Honorable mention: Notable scores that did not win: Rick Walsh at +5, Chris Sullivan with +4, and Musgrove, Szczurko, Bradley, Turchette, Bourne, Payne, M. Silva, and Meyer all at +3.

Don't forget that next week (Week 10) is the end of the first half, and second half payments will be due on Week 11.

And finally, as some of you may have heard, there's been a pesky coronavirus going around, but apparently in the Easton area there is also a nasty stupidity virus spreading, too. For the second time in recent weeks, we have had entire groups not know on what holes to play White tees and on what holes to play Blue. And one group was a foursome of SIGL veterans! (For the record, no rounds played from the wrong tees will be counted.) We didn't think that we had to say this (again) but just LOOK AT THE SCORECARD. Under Combination Tees, it shows you in living color what holes are Blue and what holes are White. Jeeze Louise. Please wear effective face protection next week to keep this from spreading to other SIGL groups. Thanks.

   See you next Tuesday.
