We had all the conditions just right for a stellar night of golf performance, but the Jekyl and Hyde collection of hackers that we are, we collectively came up short again. There were only a few golfers over quota, and after 16 birdies last week, this week we could hole only five.

Of course, the law of averages dictates that there will always be exceptions, and this week stepping up into the spotlight is the pride of Everett, Steve Lozzi. Loz came to play and carded a crisp 38/79 with a high point total of 18, by way of birdies on 2 and 9. His +8 will earn him Individual honors.

Apparently taking a year off has helped Dave Naimo as he had a great night with a +5. Teaming with the up and down Rick Keating at +4, this duo will take home the Team prize at +9.

Johnny Mac was on the attack, and so the 8th flag was a sitting duck as he stuck it close. And since 5'2" putts are his specialty, it was an automatic bird for Mr. MacNeil.

All the aforementioned birdies survived and will pay $37 each. The 6th hole was covered.

Housekeeping Dept.: Do we have to go through every hole of every golfer to verify scores? Apparently we do. We are finding too many instances of golfers submitting cards with X amount of points reported, but when we add the card, the ACTUAL amount of points earned is less. Funny how we have not yet found a card where a golfer has underreported his total. One golfer this week reported a +4 which would have been in the money, but when the card was checked it was only +2. From now on, if you submit a card where you overreport your actual points, you will be disqualified for that night, including birdies and CTP. You are responsible for your own score, not just the marker.

And finally, as many of you may be aware, one of our members was recently suspended for two weeks for conduct unbecoming an SIGLer and a gentleman. If there is even a hint of any further impropriety for the rest of the season, a permanent expulsion will be imposed.

    See you next Tuesday.

If elected, Donald Trump has vowed to do away with the presidential one-legged putting stroke. Said Trump, "They might putt that way in Kenya, but that doesn't fly here in the U.S. of A. We're gonna make America putt great again."
