    WEEK 4 CTP:    8TH HOLE

Well, we were finally able to play two weeks in a row, but we were not able to put two good scoring weeks together. In a Jeckyl and Hyde season so far, we had only 12 players exceed quota.

Star of the day honors will be shared by Jim Shannon and Rich White who were two of the few bright spots for the night. Jim came out of the gate fast with a beauty of a birdie on 1, and never looked back, recording a 38, racking up a +7, and taking the 1st Individual prize. Right behind him was rookie Rich White with his own 38, earning him a +5, and 2nd Individual, beating out Bino and Ryan Burke on a tie-breaker.

Jim had a decidely negative partner, so he was not in the running for Team honors. Instead, a plethora of Riches took 1st Team cash with Mr. White (+5) hooking up with the hot R. Harding (+3). Bino's +5 was not wasted, as he teamed with the ever steady Leonard Lima (+1) to take the 2nd Team prize.

Ted, The Spoiler, Meyer will earn CTP prize money with his jewel of a shot to 5'3" on the 6th hole. This humble hacker was already counting his money with a shot to 8' on the tough hole, but Teddy had to be a show-off and stiff it closer. And never having missed a five footer, Ted sunk the bird to rob Greg Willard of skins money, too. (Well done, Teddy.)

We had only nine birdies for the night, and three that lived. By far the most difficult hole to birdie is 1, so Jim Shannon certainly earned his $40 skins money on the opening hole. The recently retired John MacNeil added to his fixed income with a bird on 4, and Mike McNeice salvaged an up-to-that-point disappointing round with a winning birdie on 8, and a covered bird on 9. Covered holes were 3 (Burke, Payne), 6 (G. Willard, Meyer), and 9 (McNeice, White).

Highpointer honors this week will be shared by Jim Shannon and Rich White with 17. Other notables, not mentioned above, are Ed Finn and Mike Bradley (those Dr. Citrano lessons seem to be paying off), each at +3, and Terry Thompson, Joe Curtis, Johnny Fay, and rookie Sean Knowles at +2.

Housekeeping: 1) We will not be playing on the Fourth of July. The consensus is that too many players will be away or otherwise occupied on that day. 2) Please add up and record quota points earned on your submitted scorecard. It is not up to the High Commission to go through every hole of every golfer to come up with points earned. 3) We pay Easton CC based on the number of sign-ins on the sheet. If your signature is so big that it covers two lines, and the player below you didn't play that night, we will mistakenly get billed for an extra player. Please try to color within the lines. Thanks.

  See you next Tuesday.

                              WOW, THIS IS EASY.
EVEN AN SIGLer CAN DO IT!
