Recap Week 14

The Judge Smails Cup match up for the semi-finals will be

Stefanick (0) & Fitzpatrick (2)

Aronson (2) & Mark Nolan (5)

Dillon and Poverman were eliminated and Dillon was wishing Poverman didn't show.

The tension was in the air as the remaining players vying for the cup felt the pressure of playing for their quotas to advance.
Bradley was sweating profusely as holes went by and the points were hard to come by. He could not lean on his partner as Larosa was doing his thing by piling up the pars and reaching his quota. Bradley reached the 8th hole with only 4 pts and needing to get 13 drilled home a birdie putt to double his total and parred the 9th and turned in what could have been disaster on this Buck Full Moon into a trip to the semis and back to match play.
Finn and Wash too were feeling the pressure but each threw in a birdie to come in just under their quotas and living to play another day and move on to play Larosa and Bradley in which should be a great match.
Stefanick and Fitzpatrick made it look easy as Fitzpatrick came in with +4 and Stefanick was E making them the only team that came in over their quota.
Aronson was not feeling confident as I saw him in the parking lot, but he and Nolan just get in and now face a tough opponent in Stefanick and Fitzpatrick to try to advance into the finals and to hold the coveted cup over their heads in victory.
McKenna having made a bet on the 19th hole the previous week when maybe he might have had too spirits. The bet was he could play bogey golf with a putter. I have some video of him on the range and witnessed a slew of wayward shots, but also a couple that went about 175 yards. I watched him on his approach shot on 3 from about 80 yards drop 3 balls into the water. He did manage a bogey on 4 and 5 for his only 2 points which in itself is still amazing. His next challenge will be to play lefty and don't think he can't. He was getting tired of shooting 68's and 69's, if only I could trade places. I would give my left testicle to be able to do that.
