Hard to believe that we are already at the quarter pole of the season, and like fine thoroughbreds, we are just hitting out stride. This Tuesday produced many fine scores and a bushel of birds.

 Taking Team honors this week are Terry Thompson with an impressive +6, and alternate Paul Begley at +4, who benefited from Bob Loring's absence. (Just Bob's luck that all year he has drawn poor partners, and the first time he is paired with a winner, he is goofing off in Hilton Head.)

 Individual is awarded to Rick Keating, who broke out with a stellar +7, and won in a card-off over this humble hacker (LB).

 After starting off with a paucity of birdies, they really started to fall into the hole this week, with a very surprising 15 in total. But after the dust cleared, there was only one left standing, and that was this writer's birdie from the fringe on 6, proving once again that good clean living pays off.

 Smashed birdies consisted of two on 2, three on 3, the 4th hole was humiliated by five SIGL sharpshooters, and there were four on the 8th. A fine display of putting.

  Closest to the Pin was snagged by this humble hacker with a nifty approach to 4' 8". The early rabbits inadvertently set CTP on 9 this week, so next week we will do the 8th hole.

  Other notable outstanding players this week were John Hrenko at +5,  John Tracy and Mark Nolan at +4, and at +3 were solid citizens Mike McNeice, Terry Moore, Teddy Meyer, Billy Doonan, and TJ James. High pointer was this writer with 17.

   And finally, congratulations to SIGL rookie Dan Svirsky, who along with the irrepressible Dick McKenna, captured the Easton CC two-day Red, White, and Blue tourney with a very impressive -22. And speaking of impressive rookies, hats off to Lou Silva, who for the second time in his illustrious career, ran off four straight birdies, this time putting and chipping his way to birds on holes 13 through 16 during his Sunday competition. Good SIGL ambassadors both.
