The tournament began with the league starting in what I like to call Amen's corner the 15th, 16th, 17th holes, with your first swing of the day a tester. I felt fortunate to come out of those holes even par, but others had their difficulties. The winning team was even, which is what I like to see and most were within 4 points of their quotas. The rounds of the day go to Frank Larosa and Ed Finn who were both +3, with Frank getting 35 points and shot 73 and Ed had 31 points and shot 79 a dreaded other on one hole could have made this a better score. The other notables are Dave Larosa who was +4 and Dave Couldren who cashed in big time and just missed a hole in one on the 4th hole. Couldren was lucky enough to be an alternate and find himself on the winning team as well as the 3rd place team to go along with a birdie that stood and a closest to the pin, for a whopping $250 day. Cha Ching!!! This is what can happen at the year end tournament. Couldren was the final leader in the money standings, overtaking Karas, who was a fixture their all year Currie and Larosa who both made a late season charge. Tibbetts was in the top 5 even though he missed half the year. He will be back next year looking to reclaim his title. I liked the early start time and we hope to do the same next year.
I want to thank everyone who contributed to the gifts for myself and Larry and hope everyone had a good time playing in the league this year.
The letter will be sent out in February or March next year informing you of the beginning of the 08 season.
We ask again to let us know if you are not going to be in the league, by emailing me at carrabino@comcast.net.
Have a great winter and see you all in April.
